Chapter 9

"Oh man! Monkey is such a gentleman! DId you see what he did to me that night? He offered ME a banana! ME! Can u guys believe it...?" Chee Chee were telling her mates about the party Monkey held the other night. She had been going on about the banana-giving incident since the party and her everyone was tired of hearing her account of how "Monkey likes her as well".

Chee Chee was a Erythrocebus patas Monkey and came from Central Africa. It was said that she had recently develope a major crush on the handsome monkey. Now, Chee Chee and Chimpy are not exactly on talking terms. It all started when were still little. They were childhood mates in the past. Once, Chimpy dared Chee Chee to climbed the 100 year old oak tree. As Chee Chee has always been competitive and will never say "NO" to a dare, she climbed it without hesitation. Unfortunately, in her haste to get to the top of the tree, she did not notice a loose branch. So off the tree she fell and had to nurse an injured spine for 3 whole weeks. Naturally, having lost the dare, Chee Chee blamed Chimpy for thinking up of such a dangerous dare and even accused Chimpy of planting the loose branch! So, there goes their friendship, and till now, Chee Chee still bears a grudge towards Chimpy. Since then, whatever Chimpy sets her mind to do something, what she wants or like, Chee Chee will always challenge her to the end, just to make things difficult for Chimpy. Unfortunately for Chimpy, Chee Chee found out that Chimpy likes Monkey, thus she is determined to make it more difficult for Chimpy and to get Monkey in her hands, just to show her victory. This is definitely bad news for Chimpy as Chee Chee is rather attractive looking and always get the guy primates staring at her red-brown coat.

"There she goes again and again and again and again blah blah blah, sputter sputter sputter, lalala...can't she ever E-V-E-R stops?!" complains Chiono, saying it loud enough just for Chee Chee to hear.

Chimpy quickly nudges her in the ribs, but its too late. Chee Chee and her group of "good-looking but too bad that are not clever" mates walked over to where Chiono was and sneered at her.

"At least i get SOME attention from the guy I like, not like YoU, tell me, will you ever give King Kong a break? That poor guy don't need ur help to make it his worse day ever!" jeered Chee Chee.

At her words, Chiono turned beetroot red at the face.

"How..how did she found out that i like King Kong?" whispered Chiono to Chimpy.

"Search me, same way as how to found out about my crush on Monkey i guess.." sighed Chimpy.

Coincidentally, King kong walked passed at the same moment. Chee Chee seized the opportunity to flirt with him. I mean how can she ever let this wonderful chance of making Chimpy's best friend jealous?

With Chee Chee clinging on to him, as if she had lost all her strength on her legs, King Kong turned ever so slightly pink in the cheeks.

"Oh hi Chee Chee, sup?" asked King Kong.

"Ohhhhh~ i was wondering...if you would like to hang out with me some day? We'd have Lotssss of fun!~" purred Chee Chee.

"Hmm, i think it wont harm anyone. Why not? Perhaps if i discuss my Angel's appearance with you guys, i might find out more about her! Oh my angel, you saved my life, but why won't u appear to me again...?" wonders King Kong, going into his Angel dreams yet again.

Chee Chee was angered that King Kong was not mesmerized by her charms, and only agreed to hang out as he wanted to discuss his angel with them. However, she quickly recovered, put on a fake sweet smile and walked away arrogantly with her friends.

"HAHa, did u see her face? oh man i will remember that forever!" mused Chiono.

At least now they know Chee Chee posed no threat at all to Chiono, but it is also quite clear that King Kong had put all his heart and mind into finding his angel again...

The performance tent was being repaired and in the meantime, the animals have to practise new tricks. This is sort of like an apology to the public for having to post-pone the show due to unforseen circumstances. The police could not find out who was behind the fire, so the zoo management decided to let the matter rest, and only to reveal to the public that the fire was caused by faulty wiring.

end of chap 9. haha, YUN XUAN! chee chee finally appeared! happy? haha. guess this chap is much awaited since it has been a really long time since my last post. but i dun think it lived up to the standards=( as im not really please with it...BUT! i will not give up on this story! i will write finish till the end! I will perserve! haha, ok. cya guys soon. i will try to write the chaps on a more regular basis.
